Coco Chanel, a very renowned fashion designer, did not take any marketing class in her time. But one semester, she helped students at Olin B-school, Washington University in St. Louis by teaching marketing.
This new course, Luxury Apparel-Marketing B53, aided students in examining brands that make up the $237 billion industry. The students extensively researched on strategies, financial and business models of Europe’s sophisticated and luxurious apparels. In addition, the accessory marketers prepared for a two-week tour at Meccas of fashion, namely: Milan, Rome, Paris and London. This tour conducted meetings with fashion executives from Armani and Prada to Hermes and Burberry.
In Paris, Professor Martin K. Sneider and his 15 undergraduate students met with Chanel’s president of fashion activities, Bruno Pavolsky. They toured Coco Chanel’s private apartment, which is above her boutique at 31, Rue Cambon.

A Palestinian scarf has been a part of the lives of the people in Middle East. It is called kuffiyeh in Arabic. This Palestinian scarf is usually associated with leader Yasser Arafat, who can only be occasionally seen not wearing it.
And today, this scarf has found its place in mainstream fashion. Scarf companies are creating new twists, elements and designs on the scarf in non-traditional colors such as brown and purple. If you like to choose this scarf as an accessory to match with your wardrobe, then it is important for you to know how to wear it. Here’s how:
1. If you have a long hair, tie it all up so that it will not be mixed up with the scarf’s when tying.
2. Fold the scarf into half diagonally.
3. Hold the two side points and stretch it out fully. The center point must be pointing to the ground.
4. Put the scarf on your chest. Then bring the ends or two side points to the back of the neck and tie.
5. Straighten the scarf in your front so that it is properly hanging in the middle of the chest. But do not make it too straight like a handkerchief. Just fix the unnecessary crumples and retain the layers and wrinkles.
